37 Week Update

37 weeks... I'm hoping there is less than 3 weeks left (like I would prefer to have my little Jack-O-Lantern TONIGHT if I could choose)

I am so glad that I get him soon.

But let me tell you... I AM SOOOO DONE being pregnant.
  • My feet hurt, my back hurts, my hips hurt.
  • My hands are so swollen I can't grab or hold onto anything.
  • My feet are so swollen I'm wearing slippers at work because regular shoes don't fit.
  • I have to pee every 20 minutes
  • I haven't slept longer than 4 hours TOTAL in months.
  • Braxton Hicks are crazy.
  • Starting to have some regular contractions.

 So now that I've complained...

I will miss a few things about being pregnant.

  • Feeling him move inside of me
  • Being told I need to eat more (BY A DOCTOR) and getting away with it.
  • Keith talking and reading to my stomach.
  • Daydreaming about what he will look like.
  • Anticipating his arrival (I feel like I'm living on the edge)

So cross your fingers for me that he will come soon :)

36 Week Update!

WOO! we are really almost there now.

37-40 weeks is considered "full-term" so I'm keepin him in for one more week, and then, I'm going to do all I can to encourage him to join us!

I am to the point in pregnancy that I am just done.  I'm tired, I am uncomfortable, I am MISERABLE.  and I want my baby here, so I can kiss him and love him and hold him, and not be so huge and uncomfortable.

I didn't even take a picture this week.  Mostly because I was sooo uncomfortable yesterday I didn't even get out of bed until 1:00 and after that I only got up because I needed to wash pants or else no one in my house could wear clothes today.

I can't sleep.
I can't eat.
I can't walk.

***TMI ALERT!***
It feels like if I squatted, and pushed really hard, I could probably pop him right out of there.

Keith says... "Please don't do that..."

I can take a couple more weeks, I just have to keep remembering... I get to see him soon, I made it through 9 months of this, I can do a few more weeks....

Happy Wednesday!

34 Weeks Update... and the baby bump

34 weeks and counting!
That means we only have 4-6 weeks left!
Things are starting to get REAL!

ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!
(I hope you all sang that line in your best Europe voice)

My shower is this weekend, I am so excited.  My cute Sister-In-Law has planned the whole sha-bang, and I know its going to be awesome.

Looking forward to seeing lots of family! Thats always the best part about showers.

Keith is psyched, as always and continues to prepare for our little boy to join us.

Mazee however, is less excited.  I think she can tell that something is changing, and it is happening soon because she doesn't want anything to do with me.  She only wants Keith.

The other day, I picked her up from my parents house and brought her home.  I got home before Keith, so I just brought her with me.  She spent the hour before Keith got home running through the house looking for him.  Then after she ran through every room, she would go to the door and pout.  Then go look for him again.

I tried to hold her, and coax her to come sit on my lap, but no such luck.  She only wants Keith.

Have any of you had a fur baby, and then a human baby?  How did you help them adjust?

Okay, now onto the baby bump picture!

I feel like he is starting to drop, the bump looks smaller than 2 weeks ago for some reason...

33 Week Update

Went to the Dr. on Thursday and our little sweet pea is growing like a champ, and is right on track with everything.

We are going every 2 weeks now, but our Dr. informed us yesterday that after the next appointment we will start going every week...  EVERY WEEK!!!

Do you know how close that makes us?

Way close.  I'm psyched!

I wanna meet our little guy so bad, My curiosity is getting the best of me.  I just wanna know what/who he looks like, and if he has hair, and whose nose he has etc.

Soon, Kayla, soon.

Meanwhile, here is a picture from our appointment yesterday.  Keith and Jack were playing Dinosaurs :)

I had to screen shot the facebook post so you could all see how sweet my husband is, and how great of a dad he is already.

I haven't taken a baby bump picture this week but I'll be sure to at 34 weeks.

Keith and I are taking a few more maternity pictures this week.  So stay in touch to see those.

Here is my favorite of the ones Keith took last week.

I'll do a whole post on more maternity pictures after my shower. :)

And a post on my shower.

31 weeks

WOO! We made it to 31 weeks.  We are now COUNTING down in the single digits!  Only 9 weeks to the due date!!

So excited to see my little Jack-O-Lantern.  I wanna kiss him, and cuddle him, and blow up Instagram with pictures of him (if you follow me, beware, I will be that mother that posts 10000 pictures of her baby on Instagram and Facebook. You have been warned)

Since we are so close, I am definitely in the "nesting" phase, I've scrubbed my whole house top to bottom... Literally, on my hands and knees with a scrub brush...

We got a new-to-us couch from a friend last week, and it was in need of some SERIOUS TLC.

Lucky for this girl, I have a handy mother and husband who fixed it in no time.  Then it was just up to me to clean it.  Let me tell you, I am SOOO pleased with the results.  It is microfiber and was way dirty... I found several cool tricks to clean it up!

But that is a post for another time.. Check back Thursday, and I'll inform you on that ;)

I would love your opinions, I'm going to do an upcoming blog post on advice I've been given for raising a baby...  What is the best/worst advice you were given, and what advice would you give me?

For now, here is a baby bump picture

31 weeks and feeling huge!  My belly button is almost ready to pop out... Keith is really excited for that to happen, he calls it the turkey timer :)

What I've been pinning...

Everyone loves pinterest.

Especially me...

I am addicted to pinterest, still, even though usually I get involved in a fad, like twitter for example, and I go really strong at it for like 2-3 months, and then the excitement kind of dies out.

Not pinterest, not for me

Obviously, I pin a lot of baby stuff.

This is my favorite baby pin of the week. (click on picture to link to pin)
I'm obsessed with newborn pictures,  I just want our little guy to be here so we can take some!

I'm thinking a little ahead, I keep seeing the cutest grandma gifts for mothers day, and Jack will be here right in time to celebrate both of his grandma's and his momma's first mothers day.  So I'm thinking if I make a few of these (2) of these for the grandma's in my life.  I would have them all ready to go when the time comes.  (Click on picture to pin it)

I pin a lot of quilt stuff.  I love to quilt.  This is the quilt I am working on right now.  Mine looks quite a bit different.  But I really wanted to make a lone star quilt because I saw one my Grandma made and it was gorgeous.  Plus, its a GREAT way to use up scraps.  I'll post a picture when I'm done.
(again, click on the picture to pin it)

P.S. I'm 30 weeks today!  Thank goodness we're almost done.
I'm sick of being pregnant. I know what you're thinking, I still have 8-10 weeks left...

When did you get sick of being pregnant?

Bump Picture?

Okay, if you insist.. :)

29 Weeks... and counting

Holy cow, can you believe it!?!   We are on the downhill slide!

Only "11" weeks left.  Although the likelyhood is we don't have that long. I'm hoping little baby Jack makes his debut a week before the due date.  April 18th is Good Friday and ever since we found out I was pregnant that date has stuck out in my head.  I'm hoping its a sign that he will make his debut on that day.

So a little update on life at 29 weeks pregnant...

  • Morning sickness has all but disappeared, I only throw up once, or twice a week. (which for me is a HUGE advancement)
  • The above may be true, unfortunately, now my hips, sciatic nerve, and back are KILLING (I'd almost rather throw up)
  • Feet are the size of swollen sausages. ALL THE TIME.  I have started taking slippers to work because my feet swell up so much I have to take my shoes off so I can feel my toes.
  • I also feel like I have a cold.  All the time.  I asked my Dr. about it and he said its from the extra estrogen in my body, it produces a lot of mucous.  So I'm constantly blowing my nose.
  • I am LOVING the kicks, and punches, and feeling my precious cargo moving.
  • He especially likes to kick all night long.  From the moment I lay down in bed, to the moment I wake up. My little kick-boxer is kicking and punching.
  • Jack has recently discovered my ribs.. That hurts...
  • Heartburn is a way of life.
  • I love watching Keith love him already.  He always holds my tummy and waits for him to kick.  He also reads stories to him at night.  Jack loves that.
Loving life, loving all of it.

Only 10ish weeks left!

So excited to see my darling little boy.

He's going to be the cutest little bug in the whole world!

:)

And now, a bump picture...

Pregnancy so far...

So I'm 25 weeks and 3 days.  (like my Dr. says, never underestimate the days.)

I've learned a lot the last 25 weeks.  Here is a list of just a few, and then I'll grace you with a baby bump picture (which I have not done much)

1.  Being Pregnant is hard.  The more you wanted to be pregnant before you were pregnant, the harder it is.

2. Morning Sickness is a VERY underestimated illness, and there should be some sort of vaccine or patch that makes it less terrible.

3. The first stretch mark on your belly is like... Devastating. I cried, yes, you are growing a human, yes it is SO okay, and even a little bit amazing that your body is changing to accommodate this new life that is growing inside of you, but still when you see that pink line, its like... a whole new shock.

4. Hearing/Seeing your baby every 4(ish) weeks at Dr. Appointments and Ultrasounds is amazing.   I don't try to be that sappy, crying type.  But all of the throwing up, the body aches, and YES even the stretch marks become worth it every time you see/hear your little life growing and living and moving inside of you.

5. The first time you feel your baby... Wow, this was a FREAKY feeling.  I was like... was that a gas bubble... no. Am I hungry? No... I guess that was the baby?  and then as your little baby grows stronger and bigger, you KNOW its your baby.  Right now as I'm typing this, I'm SURE little Jack knows I am talking about him. He is dancin' up a storm.  There is something so comforting about knowing you're not alone, that this little tiny person is growing inside of you, this little tiny life that you are responsible for. I love it.  Its so great.

6. Working while pregnant is not as terrible as some people told me it would be.  I think having an obligation to get up and work every day has helped me cope with the morning sickness. Plus... My job is kind of awesome...

7. While you're pregnant, you gain this whole new appreciation and respect for your mom.  Even though my mom didn't give birth to me.  She is my mom, and she loves me EVERY BIT as much as I love this baby (plus some probably) and she would drop EVERYTHING to help me, and to comfort me.  I call her with the weirdest, most awkward problems (we will talk about hemorrhoids later). And she is always so supportive and amazing.
-I also have gained a new appreciation for my birth mother.  How selfless she must have been to give me a better opportunity at life.  After feeling and hearing and seeing Jack, I know that it must have been a very difficult decision, and a very selfless one at that.

8.  Pregnancy=Hunger... ALL THE TIME. and that's okay.

9. Pizza is the most amazing food on the planet.  Keith keeps telling me that as soon as I have Jack I will never be able to look at a piece of pizza again.  Poor kid, I make him eat it like three times a week (minimum, ask him, he'll tell you every night).

10. When random strangers touch your belly. It is bound to freak you out.  I love it when friends and family and loved ones touch it. That is totally fine with me, but not kidding. On more than one occasion, a random stranger I have never in my life met, will run up to me and touch me.  It makes me sooo uncomfortable.  I have this undying urge to say.. I'm not pregnant, just so they will feel as awkward as they just made me feel.  It's weird.  And if you are one of the people who do this to poor unsuspecting pregnant women... consider what I have just told you, and hold in that urge.  It's weird.

So now you know 10 things I have learned since the beginning of my pregnancy.  There will be more, I promise :)

Now...
Onto the promised baby bump picture... For the first time....

Ignore the lighting, you know... dark bedroom :)
