Merry Christmas!
(I started this post on Christmas, I just didn't know that it didn't publish)
HOHOHO! Merry Christmas. We survived yet another "end of the world." Congrats. It is now Christmas!
It has been a great day, a day well spent with Family and loved ones.
First, we woke up bright and early, (okay, I woke up at 6:30, and Keith woke up at 7:00) He's not really a morning person.
Then we unwrapped one present from each other before we went to Keith's parent's house.
Mazee got to unwrap two of hers, cause I'm impatient and she was looking at me with her puppy eyes. She's hard to resist. We got her a dogzilla durable bone (because it was the only toy we could find that didn't squeak! (we hate squeekey toys!!!) ) and a regular raw hide chicken flavored bone. The other present she got to tear open was her new glitzy collar. She really is our little princess, and she knows it too.
The present that I opened from Keith was a GREAT one! It was exactly what I was hoping for!!! THE 50 SHADES Trilogy!!! By E.L. James. I am sooo excited to read them... if you don't see me in the next 3 days, I am reading my books, don't bother me ;)
Then we went to Keith's parents house, it was so fun for all of us to be together opening presents! Keith's parents gave us an excellent gift, a laundry hamper that is on wheels, has 3 seperate compartments for "whites" "darks" and "pants" Best thing ever! I was so psyched to set it up and put my dirty clothes in it. :)
After that we went to lunch in Gunnison to Keith's Aunt and Uncles house, that was fun! We ate some yummy food, and watched "Grumpy Old Men." It was really funny!
Next we came home. We put together most of the puzzle I bought for Keith. (It's a four season's picture) I will post a picture when it is finished. We waited until Kayden and Jill got home from Tooele to open presents at my parent's house. FINALLY at about 3:30 we got a phone call from Mom, they were home. We hurried down and got to opening. I love giving gifts for Christmas, more than I like receiving them..
This year for Christmas, all of us were keeping a HUGE secret! My Mom's family came up with a genius idea, in March of 2013, my parents will celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary. We all wanted to do something special so my Uncle came up with the GREAT idea to send them on a cruise to Hawaii, if any of you know my mom, she has ALWAYS wanted to go to Hawaii.
I put together a book, based on Dr. Seuss' book "Oh The Places You'll Go" and changed the words so that it hinted at Hawaii.
Then we put together a package of Hawaiian stuff. It was the greatest gift ever. When Mom opened it she just cried and cried and cried. It was so special!
We recorded their reaction. You'll have to turn the volume all the way up. My mom was reading too quiet, and there was a lot of crying.
Turn it up, you won't wanna miss this!
They are so excited :) I am so excited for them :)
We spent the evening playing games with my brother and SIL, it was so fun. There are FINALLY enough of us to play games (Mom and Dad are Bah-Humbug's when it comes to game night, plus, Dad is a cheater!!!) We played a few new ones we got for Christmas, HeadBandz (Disney Edition) and Fibber. It was fun to laugh and play with my siblings :)

12-21-12
Well, its here guys. It's the end of the world. Have you looked outside? Its sunny, and beautiful, and not at all fireballs of death. So, okay, I hear that technically it's supposed to end at 11:11 UTC (which for those of us who don't know what time that is, (like me, who had to look it up) is coordinated universe time) WHAT?? I looked it up, and when it was 11:11 UTC it was 4:11 AM here in Utah, therefore, you all survived the end of the world. Congrats... well, that is, unless you didn't. In which case... I'm truly sorry, and will miss you a lot. :)
Happy end of the world. Fun fact, since I was born in 1993, I have survived the end of the world a total of 45 times. According to wikipedia.
and that is your interesting fact for this day, the end of the world (not)

Sad things
It didn't seem appropriate to put this post in with the other happy post.
Onto some really sad stuff...
I wish that bad things didn't happen, but unfortunately they do.
And I think its better to talk about it that keep our feelings repressed.
This shooting in Connecticut has really left me sick to my stomach. I think about it and I just CRY. Keith and I were watching a 20/20 report the night it happened. We just sat there and cried. My heart is hurting for all of those parents that have to have Christmas without their babies! What kind of sick freak would kill babies! These poor kids were so innocent, and their teachers risked their lives for their students. One story really touched my heart. About the first grade teacher who hid all of her students in the closets, and when the gunman came in, she told them that her students were in the gym. He shot her. and all of her students lived. Her name was Victoria Soto, and she is a hero. This is the picture I acquired from ABC news. She was beautiful, and she has a special place in heaven.
I guess I just have a hard time understanding why anyone would do such a horrific thing. Kill innocent people, children that he didn't even know.
I really liked a post I read on facebook, it was originally credited to Morgan Freeman, but he later revealed that it wasn't him that posted it. Sources found that it was just some guy from Vancouver.
Nevertheless, I really liked the message, it's a bit rant-ish, so I'll just give you the best part
"You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim."
There was a lot more, but that is the important part. This man should not be remembered for the pain he caused. This man should be forgotten, and should not gain infamy by creating such a horrible heinous act of violence. This man should be forgotten, and be left to rot in hell.
So lets take a minute and honor the victims of the Newtown, Connecticut Elementary Massacre.

That is a lot of children, a lot of children whose parents won't have them for Christmas, they won't ever be able to hold their babies close. These kids were all from 2 first grade classes. These children went to school, and they will never be able to go home. My heart is so broken. There weren't just children whose lives were taken. There were adults, teachers and faculty from this school. These people gave their lives in an effort to protect their students. These people are all hero's.

So many lives lost. What a horrible day for society. School is supposed to be such a safe place. A place where parents can drop their children off, and not worry if they are going to come home at the end of the day, what an awful day for man-kind.
What a sad thing to think that so many lives were lost. Heaven has more angels now.
I'm Dreaming Of a White Christmas!
Okay first of all, I need to thank someone... As all of you know, I am awful at blogging routinely, so my LL April Hansen who has a very, very cute blog. (find it here http://aprilh1692.blogspot.com/ really though, check it out!) texted me last night, and reminded me, so I have her to thank for keeping me on track! Thanks A! (you may have to text me routinely so I can keep up on things) ;)
It's true, I really am dreaming of a white, beautiful, majestic Christmas.... However, the possibility of that happening are looking quite dreary. It did snow this weekend, we woke up to about a quarter of an inch on Saturday. But by the end of the day, it was all melted. Today, it is about 50 degrees. I seriously had to take my jacket off driving to work. IN THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER!
In other news, it is ALMOST Christmas. Only 7 (okay technically 8, but I'm optimistic) days left!
All of our hard work doing Christmas lights and outdoor decorations has been all for not. I didn't even get a successful picture before our landlord hired someone to fix our soffit and fascia and build us a porch. In order for the people to build, they took down our Christmas Lights.... sad. But hopefully, they will be done today, so we can fix them and turn them on again so Santa can find our house.
In other adventures, I heard that the world is suppose to end this week... When I was in third grade someone told me it was suppose to end in 2012, and I thought, man, its a good thing I will be like 100 then.. Surprise little tiny 9 year-old Kayla. You are only 19. :) My hypothesis, the world is not going to end. But if it does. Know I love you all. (But I promise I will be alive on December 22.)
I found this widget online, its pretty popular
So now you can all keep an accurate countdown.
This whole end of the world stuff is crazy, and people are literally going insane about it.
Jill and I decided to have a baking night on Saturday, we decided to make fudge, but before we decided that, we were looking for a recipe. Keith was sitting in our recliner, and Mazee was being obnoxious and kept going behind the chair, Keith went to pick her up, and he FOUND A MOUSE!!! It was dead, and in my house!!! It was awful. I put bags over my hand, and a towel over my face. and I, the brave Kayla scooped it up, and threw it away!

Long time no blog...
Once again, I have proven that my blogging dedication is sub-par.
I really need to make a blogging schedule and put it in my phone... "REMINDER: Blog at least once a week, I mean comeon! its not like blogging is a laborious task like... oh, I dunno, LAUNDRY!
There's an idea, once a week I will tell Keith that he has to do the dishes and the laundry cause I have to blog :) there's a thought! ;) (I'll make sure to save the dirty undies for that day!)
Anyway so... for the last three months here is an overview!
September:
Keith and I were in a four-wheeler accident (read previous post), Keith had to have surgery on his arm on 9-11 (he was really freaked out about the date) He was out of work for about 8 weeks in total, and it definitely took a toll financially, but as always, we are livin' on love. He has a really intense scar that freaks me out every time I look at it. -->
He has a huge, HUGE piece of hardware in his arm. The first thing he said to me when he woke up was:
"Kayla, can I still go on a plane? Or will they stop me in security?"
What a silly goose!
It was about an hour long surgery. We were all a little worried because the night he broke his arm, he had a reaction to the anesthesia, and didn't wake up for like 4 hours after they put him under. But he woke right up after!
<--This is a cute picture of Keithy when he woke up and they let me go back to see him. What a cutie patooty! He was in high spirits the whole time, he even told our nurse that she was "the nicest EVER!" and that she reminded him of his best friend Kellie's mom, Laura. (She really did though, it was cute!) He was a trooper, he only took the pain killers for the first few days after surgery, and he always refused to take the whole dose. He told me, Kayla, if I was all doped up, who would take care of you? (He's such a sweetheart right?) The doctor was amazed at how quickly he recovered.
October:
October was exciting, Keith got to go back to work in the middle of the month, and then.. BIG NEWS: KAYDEN AND JILL GOT MARRIED!! On October 19, 2012. At the cabin. It was BEAUTIFUL! and I gained another sister, that puts the count up to 2 SISTERS! (and 2 Brothers) They went to Moab for their honeymoon, don't you love the "Just Hitched" Rhino Sign?
Later in the month, we went to Tuacahn with Ricky and Lynnzie, to see Thriller, it was so great, I want to go back about a million more times!!! It was amazing, I was entertained the entire time.
My favorite part? THE ZOMBIES!!! I FED TWO OF THEM!.. okay, let me explain, they did not eat my brain, I fed them my caramel corn :) :) it was so much fun. ---> These are the zombies that we met after at Denny's (It was cool to see them, they remembered me).
November:
Thanksgiving month, it was really quite uneventful, lots of paper work we had to fill out to get some assistance with medical bills (I mean come on, we just got married!) We celebrated our three month anniversary, it was the first month we didn't have a Dr's adventure on our anniversary, or the say after. It was fun, Keith made dinner (he's a great cook!).
We won this turkey at Gunnison Market because I was standing on number one... and then I went to the bathroom and made Keith stand on number one... So technically... I WON! :) You can see Mazee is not impressed with my need to take pictures of everything, but I'm loving the iPhone with its handy dandy camera that can take pictures without that awkward... I can't see anything problem.
Other than that, we celebrated Thanksgiving at our house with Keith's parents. (I made... umm the rolls?) and I bought a pie... OH yes, and I made a ham... Which I thought was gross cause it was a really cheap ham... but Keith liked it, and thats what matters!
We also got to put up our very own Christmas Tree and Decorations, in our (sort of ours, its actually our landlords but we live here, so its ours) home!!!
We were so excited about Christmas that the say after Thanksgiving we put our tree up, and the lights on our house were up before that!
That brings us to... DECEMBER... the best time of the year!
As most of you know, my mom is really NOT into Christmas, and I fear that did rub off on me just a little bit... BUT my husband is like Ol' Saint Nick himself.. (okay, except that he is a bean pole) and he is full of the Christmas Spirit, he has really got me into it! I was so excited to decorate our tree.... and I personally think it is the best one I have ever seen (not that I am biased or anything.. ;) )
But really, tell me you don't agree? I think its gorgeous! -->
This month we celebrated our four month anniversary!! Yay!! Let me tell you, I love this man more today than I thought I could ever love anyone.
When you go through hard things it really makes you stronger as a couple.
My philosophy: If one has never experienced true sorrow, one will never experience true happiness.
I really honestly believe that 110% We have had some trouble, and now, we are closer than ever.
My Bestest Friend Kellie is going to write a song about Keith and me, its going to be called. "No Milk, Just Love." It will be a hit! The milk reference is because Milk is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive at Wal*Mart. I mean $3.20 for a gallon of milk... PLEASE!!!
That brings us to today... The 13th of December :) Way excited for Christmas :)
I promise I will be better at this blogging stuff!

Right??! HUGE PIECE OF HARDWARE! |
Keith the day after the accident: Mazee was his buddy, she never left his side, look how miserable they are.. :( |
October:
They got matching Rat Fink hoodies, they were excited, can't you tell? |
October was exciting, Keith got to go back to work in the middle of the month, and then.. BIG NEWS: KAYDEN AND JILL GOT MARRIED!! On October 19, 2012. At the cabin. It was BEAUTIFUL! and I gained another sister, that puts the count up to 2 SISTERS! (and 2 Brothers) They went to Moab for their honeymoon, don't you love the "Just Hitched" Rhino Sign?
Keith and I had the awesome opportunity to take Jill's bridals, it was so fun! (this is a picture of my mom under Jill's dress saving it from going in the water while we were shooting! |
Thanks Ricky and Lynn for inviting us and for everything you always do for us! WE LOVE YOU :)
I was so excited to decorate our tree.... and I personally think it is the best one I have ever seen (not that I am biased or anything.. ;) )
